Oh my Lord! Help me be,
All the things you want from me.
Oh Great Beloved, enact your stage,
As you preside over age upon age…
Teach me how to listen –
Show me where to look –
I know I shall be risen –
You told me in your book.
Oh when I beg of you speak to me –
Guide me to the Bibles Shores.
Where I may contemplate your mystery –
Amid the daily sins and human wars…
Oh my Jesus guide my rest –
Guide my actions, even though my best,
Is dust and soot and nothing at all,
How we were sold at our terrible fall…
Lord, lift me up, adopt me again…
Clean me from my parents’ shame.
Adam and Eve sold me into slavery!
Let me repair myself to you with much
Diligence and bravery.
Lord, I can do really nothing at all,
Without you, I cannot even crawl…
Anoint me please, let me work for Thee –
Then I will be happy,
Then I will be free.
