When asked what I see in my spiritual devotion,
One might as well ask, a drop in the ocean,
What it sees and what it feels,
What it breathes and what it heals.
To ask me of my relationship with God,
To explain and define and tally the odds,
I always reply, the same without hesitation,
Go talk to Him yourself and see my exaltation –
And when you do see, and have seen and will see,
And another comes asking like you just asked me,
Answer them just, as I answered you,
Go seek for yourself, for things that are true.
For stars do not land,
To explain themselves to man,
And angels ask not permission to be.
The wind doesn’t wait, until it’s convenient to blow,
And knowledge doesn’t come, while you idly go.
If you want any good answers to the question of the soul,
The answers lie inside, not outside, you know…
