Description

Have you ever experienced something so painful, and found yourself just so stuck there? A hurt, a trauma, a loss, and you don’t see a way forward?

For a long time, in reading Paul's words in Philippians 3:13-14, “…forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus,” I believed God's command to us was simply to forget those painful things, to move onward Christian soldiers!

Today on R&R, we learn that Paul speaks these words right after recounting his own past and his credentials. Paul's instruction to us here is not to stay stuck in the past. We should bring past pain and sin to Christ for healing and help, but not “stop our clock” there. Rather, as citizens of heaven, we should move into all that God has for us as we praise Him for every victory and seek Him for healing in every painful situation.

Incredibly relevant passages today on R&R!
