In recent years, Africa has had to deal with the effects of the pandemic, growing inequality, and the threat of climate change. In addition, individual African countries have faced their own challenges. How has African philanthropy coped with these problems and what shape should it take to deal with those that lie ahead?
Philanthropy  for-and by - Africans has played a significant role in the lives of many through charitable donations, funding businesses and stop gap public good provisions. But can it be more?
The traditional model of philanthropy needs to evolve in order to ensure it fulfils its own potential as a catalyst for growth, and best serves the needs of those it is intended to support.
