Description

On this episode, I talk with Mr. Multiverse about the MonsterVerse film Godzilla vs. Kong, which came out last November in our universe but is coming to HBO Max sometime soon in that other universe! We talk about our experiences with the characters and Kaiju films in general before we delve into this modern interpretation of 1962's King Kong vs. Godzilla. What did we think of the human characters? How were the fights? How did we feel about the ending? Listen and find out!

Show Notes:

8:30 - I now remember that the first time I ever heard about King Kong was when I was very little and heard him compared to Tarzan in Rugrats episode "Party Animals."

10:00 - Here's the Paramount+ preview of the new Rugrats show.

15:00 - The production history for King Kong (1976) is a bit complicated. Check out the Wikipedia article. There's also a bit more in the section about ownership on Wikipedia's character page.

24:00 - The "chili pepper on the cake" joke originated from Trust Your Doctor: A Doctor Who Podcast.

40:00 - Forgot to mention that I really didn't like The Cloverfield Paradox.

59:00 - Turns out 2006 is when Gamera the Brave came out.

1:04:00 - More Dr Pepper info on Wikizilla.
