Happy Halloween CinaCultists! The hosts of CinaCult want to wish everyone a safe and fun Halloween and we ourselves have a treat for you this spooky season with a review of the 1991 family-spooky comedy: Ernest Scared Stupid! Jim Varney was an incredible man who brought laughter and smiles to kids and adults alike with his bumbling, lovable goofball Ernest P. Worrell. After a string of films in the 80's like Ernest Saves Christmas, Ernest Goes to Camp & Ernest Goes to Jail, Disney's Touchstone Pictures brought back Ernest under their banner one last time. This time, Ernest and his friends must stop the evil Trantor, an ancient troll locked away centuries ago by Ernest's ancestors, from collecting the souls of 5 children before he can raise his troll army! Slapstick ensues as Ernest teams up with Francis "Old Lady" Hackmore (played perfectly by Eartha Kitt) to save the day along with his trusty dog Rimshot and a bottle of...miak? Does this film hold up as a worthy Halloween kids film? Is this an unofficial sequel to Killer Klowns? Join Cordell and Lucas on this spooktacular Halloween to find out!
