The Kiwi and the Emu Series 2 episode 4 - Sue Dymond Part 2
Come and join Carolyn and Elise as they interview Karen Plimmer and Murray Peat from Auckland who also appeared on this program in 2020.
Two legally blind parents now bringing up a 4 and a half-year-old daughter, Emily, who is very vibrant. They discuss support workers, childcare, their plans for school and what it is like to have a young daughter and what it is like for that young daughter to have two Blind in low vision parents.
Transport is often an issue and managing Uber drivers can often be an issue for both parent and child, especially when the Uber driver doesn't know the difference between left and right.
They also discuss support workers and how helpful they are to that normal every day life particularly when taking Emily out.
Since our last discussion, both Karen and Murray have full-time and rewarding new jobs and enjoy the challenges and responsibilities that come with their new positions.
