This first Off the Record episode for the new year featured interesting segments starting off strong with the 5 minute news update with Mako TV’s General Manager, Madison Kasper and Antonio Escorzon, The Current’s Editor in Chief and Mako Media Graduate Assistant who gave the latest in Mako Media operations! This was followed by a quick interview with Gustavo Padrino, the General Manager of the Rose & Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center who gave us insight into some exciting upcoming shows! Sadreena Colonel, the Assistant Director of Student Experience, gave us some updates into some big university-wide events like Community Fest and the Stueys! These discussions led to an educational segment with Andrea Durand and Nana Vega from the Town of Davie Fire Rescue Department as they came in to talk about Opioid Awareness and Prevention! Sports followed with Liv Zolk, our sports anchor and Maya Esparza, a member of the NSU Swim team! Last but certainly not least, the program ended off with Pop Culture, where we discussed big topics like the Grammy’s, Super Bowl Sunday, Harry Styles and much more!
