Speaker: Reverend Marlin Jones Sermon

1. Know the Word of God. God’s Word is eternal, and His Word brings light to a dark world.

2. Be Prepared to serve in the midst of your troubles. God is using your service to lead people to Christ. This is “letting our light shine so that others may see your good works and glorify God in heaven.”

3. Have a heart of Thanksgiving. Be grateful for both your troubles and your blessings. See your troubles as an opportunity for you to remain humble and as an opportunity for God to demonstrate His power.

4. Remain Hopeful! It is not all about what you see before you. It is about what God is doing behind what is seen. God is working even when you do not see it. It is not just about this life but also about eternal life. In the old church, they called it “sending up my timber.” Means, pray, praise, and sacrifice to God at all times—good and bad—so you can draw strength from God when you need him most.
