Signs of burnout can be subtle and not so subtle and show up through a number of signs and symptoms:

chronic fatigue, sleep issues, getting sick often, appetite changes, irritability, heightened emotional responses (quick to cry, quick to anger), a sense of failure and self-doubt, feeling helpless or trapped, negative attitude, depression, loss of motivation, not interested in things that you used to really like, decreased satisfaction and sense of accomplishment, detachment and withdrawal from work and social activities, numbing out with things like alcohol, social media, TV...

Essentially it's your body putting on the brakes because it has reached its capacity.

Burnout is not something that just happens overnight it's something that builds over time. I'm sharing 8 things that I did that just made my burnout worse that will help you to avoid and become aware of so you don't make the same mistakes!
