The reemergence of avian influenza in the Philippines added to the ongoing health and economic challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. The government had taken steps to prevent the spread of the animal disease while the private sector, from large to small scale, have responded to secure their poultry and livestock as well as the communities where their businesses are located. These were some of the topics discussed during the last part of the Biosecurity Threats in Agriculture webinar series. Invited representatives from the Bureau of Animal Industry, Vitarich Corporation, and Batangas Free Range Chicken talked about the prevention and mitigation measures they have done against avian influenza.
