Description

This week we chatted to Dorothy May! I met Dorothy virtually during COVID and we just connected and I am so grateful I met her! We chatted about our experience as women in comedy, bringing awareness to the refugee situation in Australia and some fun rapid fire questions! So, grab a coffee and enjoy!

BIO

Dorothy May is an Australian Performing Artist, Teacher & Creator of The Humour Experiment. Dorothy fell in love with Storytelling and Multi-Disciplinary Expression from a young age. As a young adult, Dorothy attended the Victorian College of the Arts for a Bachelor of Musical Theatre. Since then she has continued to sing and act in short films, plays and performs in numerous Cabarets. Dorothy is fascinated by Comedy, and so began her own community called "The Humour Experiment". The Humour Experiment has produced a Podcast, Workshops and Classes that centre around the exploration of Comedy. As a young singer, Dorothy completed her Classical AMEB Exams before studying Voice at the VCA. Singing has been a skill she has developed over several years while studying under some of the best Vocalists and Teachers Australia has to offer. Dorothy's vocal exploration has become more expansive to involve a more holistic approach to vocal freedom and research. An attitude of exploration and discovery underpins the work that Dorothy does with her students and her own vocal development.
