The 23rd Psalm of David may be a familiar passage of scripture for some who may have learned it in its entirety during Sunday school, or you may have heard quotes from the 23rd Psalm. David who was a shepherd boy himself, wrote this Psalm and he starts with verse one by saying, "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want," because David realized who the ultimate shepherd was. David admonishes God and he acknowledges who God is and what God can do by preparing and setting a table before him in the presence of his enemies.
