It is said that the boomerang effect is a situation in which a persuasive message produces attitude change in the direction opposite to that intended. Boomerang effects occur when recipients generate counterarguments substantially stronger than the arguments contained in the original message. It is also believed that one of the most serious implications of boomerang effects is that messages created with a pro-social intent can result in the targeted attitude or behavior in someone becoming worse. However, a boomerang does not only target people socially, it is also a tool which is a bent or angular throwing object, typically flat on one side and rounded on the other side, so that it soars or curves in flight. What does all this mean for you? It means that because of the boomerang effect, whatever the enemy throws at you it has already been setup to backfire. I pray that you will be Blessed as you listen to today's show, The Boomerang Effect!
