“Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory” —v.24. Asaph wrote this verse after he had gone through period of doubt, and it was a wonderful conclusion to his severe depression. He came out of His experience with several certainties.
The wicked may have violence, bounty prosperity and a full cup of appearing blessing. But we have God, and he holds us (v.23). God guides us (v.24). The important thing—the afterward. What’s going to afterward? We can be sure that we will be with Him forever. And also, God strengthen us (v.26), and God helps us in every stage of life (v.28). Wherever we’re, whatever we’re going through, we must draw near to God and we must put our trust in the Lord God and declare His works (v.28).
The promise of an eternal home in heaven with the Lord and encourages us in this life. God purchased you with a great price, and He keeps us and protects us through everything. What assurance we have!
