Born 1962 in Liverpool. Grew up in Belfast from age of 5. B.A. from Trinity College, Dublin. M.A. from Queen’s University (in Medieval English Literature). Resident in Japan since 1991. Married, two sons. Professor of English literature at Tsurumi University, Yokohama. Teach part-time at Keio University, including a course on Creative Writing. Many academic articles published, peer-reviewed, on both late Medieval English literature and on James Joyce, and other more contemporary Irish writers. Creative writing publications:
