Chapter 6 - God’s Way of Doing Things
Summary
A big part of being drawn to God is understanding His way of doing things. When you understand His plan and how He operates it, it will facilitate a relationship with Him and make it much easier for you to want to go to Him. Jesus is our refuge. He is a safe place we can go no matter what. Jesus is God’s way of drawing us to Himself.
Ch. 6 Outline - God’s Way of Doing Things
- We say actions speak louder than words. Jesus is God’s action towards us.
- Jesus is God’s body language. If what you hear about God doesn’t line up with Jesus, then you’re at the least not hearing the whole story and at worst hearing the wrong story
- God is the most misunderstood person of all-time. In order for us to know who He is we needed an interrupter. He sent Jesus so we could understand Him, to show us His way.
- Many times we get into a bad habit of measuring God’s love for us based on what happens in this world. When you do that you are setting up stumbling blocks for yourself. Jesus is the measuring stick for how much God loves you.
- Jesus told the Pharisees all the scriptures point to Him. Types and shadows in the OT are awesome.
