Chapter 10 - God’s Love - Why God Loves You
Summary
God doesn’t just want you to have head knowledge that He loves you. He wants you to experience His love. A major stumbling block to you experiencing His love is a misunderstanding of why God loves you. There is a reason why God loves you and it’s not because He is obligated to. When you can understand why God loves you and His purpose for creating mankind, you will be able to experience His love for you much easier.

- Why God loves you matters because it will help you experience the love of God
- Seinfeld example - he didn’t do it for the girl he was dating? What happens when somebody does do it for another though?
- This revelation really helped me in my walk with God because I always thought God only loved me because of what I could do for Him. I never thought about it much but that type of thinking didn’t lend itself to a real close relationship. I always felt like a servant. I heard about how I was a child of God, but could never seem to feel like I was and just assumed it was because something was wrong with me.
- There is a reason God loves you and it has nothing to do with what you can do for Him. It’s also not because He is obligated to.
- False belief - God doesn’t love you because you’re lovable, He loves you because He is love.
- Husband -wife example - Imagine if you told your spouse it doesn’t matter if you feel my love
- God is infatuated with you like cat’s do around catnip. Everything else faded to black. You just do it for Him. That’s why God loves you.
