Description

John Patrick is a strength and conditioning coach at George Walton Academy. John is a graduate of Mount Union College where he earned his bachelor degree Exercise Science in 1999. Within just a few years he earned his Masters degree in Kinesiology from Georgia Southern and has been within the strength and conditioning realm of sports ever since. He is a longtime NCAA Division I strength and conditions coach, working at Kennesaw State University, Youngstown State University, Jacksonville University, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. 

In this episode, we discuss John’s thoughts on youth and high-school players lifting weights and the long time perception that it is not safe for the athletes. However, John talks about how he believes it is, if done the right way which you can learn more about in this podcast. 

We also discuss off-season and in-season strength training specifically for baseball players. John explains the differences that go into training in those seasons and what he finds to be the most beneficial.
