A few weeks ago I was trimming trees outside our building, and heard a car crash happen. US 1 had just gone under construction in the name of safety, and here I was witnessing one of several accidents I've seen on the road since. I felt a heavy sense of irony in that moment because I was listening to a book on upstream thinking.
