We're excited to introduce our new Superhuman System!
What is the Superhuman System? It's a tiered system to gauge where you are, what your strengths and weaknesses are, and a guideline to set attainable goals for yourself. This is a variation of a martial arts system, where you essentially "Level Up" as you improve your fitness. The Superhuman System takes movements you see everyday in class, and adds levels to them. For example, if your goal is to do a strict pull up, you may achieve a 30 second hang on the bar (Level 1) first, and work your way up to strict pull ups and beyond. We want well-rounded functional fitness, and believe this system will give members a concrete view on where they're at and where they want to go.
In this episode of the FitTown Show, we'll discuss the different levels, how the testing and progress will be incorporated into class, and why we're introducing it in FTX before BeachFit.
We'll cover the focus on foundational over sport-based movements and why we set up the strength tests relative to bodyweight instead of using absolutes.
