The “Word to the Wildcats” leadership series is designed to provide space for notable CWU Alumni and CWU Educators to share stories of growth, resilience and leadership with the current Wildcat student body. Each guest speaker will share a unique moment in their life that has and taught them a major life leadership lesson, current trends, and hot topics. 

Season 2, Episode 1 features Armando T. Ortíz. Armando grew up in White Center, WA and graduated from Big Picture high school. While at Central Washington University he majored in Sociology with a minor in Ethnic Studies. During his time at CWU Armando worked diligently for the students of underrepresented groups by being a leader in various student groups and serving as the ASCWU student government president.. Upon graduating Armando went to attain his Masters in Education from Loyola University Chicago in Cultural & Educational Policy Studies. Since acquiring his masters Armando working in the community as a Social Enterprise Manager for Juma Ventures engaging Seattle area youth in building their soft skills and their financial literacy/capabilities knowledge to aid in their progression of becoming a young adult.
