Welcome to 1 John 2:12-17! These next verses in our study of 1 John unearth the truth about living a double life. They begin with a beautiful description of the life that God gives us in Christ, but they end with a warning. It’s a strong, sobering warning to Christians to flee from the temptation to live a double life in this world. What is a double life? It is a life lived in love with “the world or anything in the world” (1 John 2:15).
