Description

Okay so its the second month of a new year and it's sooo easy at this time of the year to beat yourself up for not sticking to your New Years Resolutions. With the first month of the year done, it can feel like you're already so far behind. What I see most people do when they experience the emotions around not having stuck to their goals... or maybe even when they haven't even gotten started (I know I've felt this too 👋🏻) is they use 'guilt' and 'shame' to drive themselves to action.

This strategy for motivation is short-lived and frankly, super exhausting. It actually feels like a punishment of some sort. Yet we inflict it on ourselves whether consciously or not because we simply don't know any better.

For me, I made a commitment last year to never use 'guilt' or 'shame' to drive me to act on my goals... instead, I went to work on changing the way I think. I shifted my strategy for motivation and action to come from joy, abundance and ALLLL of the good feelings. This is because when your actions come from a place of abundance- it always feels better, is sustainable & doesn't end up making you want to give up altogether.
