Welcome to the Book of Hosea!! As Jeremiah was Judah’s LAST CHANCE Prophet, Hosea was the LAST CHANCE PROPHET of the Northern Kingdom known as Israel. The army of the Assyrians is on the way. Israel's King and people had abandoned Jehovah God and sought out 'false lovers'. So how was the Lord to get their attention and maybe bring them to repentance: he asks the Prophet to marry a prostitute named Gomer. The book of Hosea is a story of obedience, betrayal... and a REDEMPTIVE LOVE that seeks out the 'wayward' and brings them 'home.
