Even jellyfish sleep at night!

Jellyfish don’t have brains.  They sleep upside down, deep on the ocean floor.  They don’t do much during the day, except to gently pulsate, but this is still enough for them to want a good night’s sleep.  They don’t have eyes, so they can’t get any “shut eye” and they don’t have a brain, so why do they sleep?  They need to sleep like other brainless animals such as worms and fruit flies because they just get sleepy.  Even plants sleep.  When jellyfish are disturbed at night, they take naps during the day.  We’re talking brainless jellyfish with no eyes taking naps.  If they were moved while they slept, they woke up and went right back to the ocean floor.  Scientists proved that sleep developed hundreds of millions of years ago before brains evolved.  Be as smart as jellyfish.  Get yourself in bed and go to sleep.
