Topic - Tears and Meaning. The one thing that many men fear most are the tears of women they love.
We women are very strong and though we have a reputation for being emotional, it’s a bad rap. We’re not nearly as emotional as we’re fierce and passionate. We’re all in.
But let’s get back to the tear thing. Why do men have this strong response? Do they feel manipulated or is it something else? It’s something else.
The smell of a woman’s tears is associated with a dip in testosterone and a decline in sexual arousal.
Tears shed because of emotional arousal have a different chemistry and smell than those needed to clean the eyes. Their scent has a “help soliciting” function.
Only women’s tears were studied in the research, but men’s tears and those of children are likely to communicate the same “help me” message that just can’t be ignored.
So, when your children cry, they really do need your help.
