Nothing new there, but you can change your kid’s personal economic circumstances by getting very serious about your own.
Think about how you manage your finances. Do you want your kids to have a brighter future? Then teach them!
There are many resources online and on the radio to give you a solid head start. Believe it or not, there are programs for kids as young as 3 years, so there’s no excuse!
The programs help you teach your child about more than money because money is about work and cooperation. It’s also about self-discipline and reasonable decision-making.
Start with an allowance. I’ve written about giving allowances and no matter how old your child is, get them started.
And, whatever you do, don’t put yourself or your kids into debt for college. You can get a degree without debt.
