Topic - It's Not Where You Start Out. Our rescue Irish boxer, Murphy, was a stray. He was hit by a car and the person took him to a vet.
The veterinary assistant fell in love with him and took him home, but had to give him up due to her own circumstances. She was sitting in the parking lot at the animal shelter sobbing over giving up such a sweet dog.
He was older, injured and would likely not be adopted. As she walked in, a woman from a dog rescue group took Murphy.
We found him at a Petco adoption event soon after. He led a spectacularly wonderful life before he died 5 years later.
He was very grateful for everything we did for him, had wonderful manners, vigilantly defended his home and was a loyal friend.
Murphy taught us that it’s not where you start out in life, it’s where you end up. The most amazing things can happen to you even if you have a rough start.
Remember to be a good friend, be grateful and have manners. Having silky brown ears doesn’t hurt, either.
