Topic - The Aha Moment. You’ve said it yourself many times. “Oh, I get it!”
That aha moment is the point where you suddenly understand.
Archimedes sat in a public bath and made some observations. He could tell the volume of an object by how much water it displaced.
The story goes he jumped from the bath and ran home naked screaming “Eureka”, Greek for “I found it”.
In the 1920s, the aha moment was expanded to describe “insight learning” which is the sudden realization of a solution.
Babies have a tremendous amount of aha moments as they encounter their world for the first time. The sudden changes in the brain’s electrical activity signals something new is going on. It leads to creativity.
So, instead of putting the square peg in the square hole, give your baby the triangle and square pegs and allow them to experiment! Watch the aha moment happen!
