Topic - Women’s Lifestyle and Stroke Risk
Women have specific risk factors for stroke. These factors are under our control, so think carefully about how you’ll cope with a stroke in your 70s.
A healthy diet, drinking alcohol in moderation, never smoking, being physically active and having a healthy body mass index are the factors.
If you have none of these, you have a fifty-four percent lower risk of having a stroke.
Take heart, you can start working on these factors and steadily decrease your chances when you add each healthy lifestyle to your list.
So, get moving just a little more, slow down or stop smoking, drink a little less alcohol, eat a little less and eat some healthier foods to live longer.
You don’t have to completely give up everything, just start with dialing it back a bit, well, maybe give up smoking altogether.
Small steps really make a difference.
