Topic - Wired For Revenge

Revenge.  An eye for an eye it’s said, leaves everybody blind.

It’s the most primitive form of justice and takes place when there are no formal laws, but that’s not us here in America.

We see people exacting revenge fueled by irrational passion.  When we think of revenge or act on it, the reward centers of the brain are activated.

The human brain is wired for revenge.  In order to be satisfying, the recipient must know there’s a connection between the original offense and retaliation.

The one who retaliates must watch the suffering.

Revenge keeps the wound open and the cycle of retaliation causes more harm than the blow that started the whole thing, thus the phrase about digging two graves when seeking revenge.
