Topic - Good Enough Is

Erma Bombeck, American humorist, is known for saying that a house should be “Clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy”.

That one statement was powerful and stuck with me for many years.  She’s right, “Good enough is”.

We should focus on the “process of parenting” instead of the “product”.

We parents should spend time helping our kids become who they want to be.  This means shoring up their weaknesses and showcasing their strengths.

We shouldn’t work on making them into who we want them to be.

So, leftovers are good enough, a mostly clean home is good enough, laundry done, but still in the dryer is good enough.

Accept any and all help and accept the way the help is offered.

It’s not perfect, but good enough.

This will take teeny tiny baby steps, so practice that good enough really is.

Kids need parents to be present in their lives.  They don’t need you to be perfect.
