Topic - Morbid Curiosity And Social Media

Humans have a very powerful need to know. This need has launched us into outer space, to the depths of the ocean, to advances in technology and medicine.

It also has a morbid side where we spend way too much time on social media learning about our “ex’s” latest girlfriend, the popular kids from high school and our co-workers.

We just have to know the knowable even if what we learn is painful.

Humans can’t cope with uncertainty. “It’s a blessing and a curse”.

You’ve heard the proverb, “Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back”. That proverb is a warning about the dangers of investigating, the results of which create more questions, hence the “satisfaction” comment.

So, shut off your emotional system, engage your thinking skills and resist going onto those records search sites to learn more. Check your unfinished business and clean it up.
