We’re well aware that secondhand smoke is deadly. It’s killed more than two and a half million people since nineteen sixty four. Now, scientists have discovered thirdhand smoke which is the nicotine and chemical residue that creates a thin film that can be picked up by touch or released back into the air. It gets on everything. The study indicated that the residue winds up on kids’ hands and in their saliva potentially causing health problems. Babies are particularly vulnerable because they spend so much time indoors and because they put their hands in their mouths so much. Thirdhand smoke remains for up to five years. It doesn’t go up in the air and disappear. The film is difficult to clean because of the chemical compounds in it. Stop smoking now. Don’t vape. Those chemicals are worse than tobacco and their effects are unknown. See your doctor. You can’t live with the consequences.
