Topic - Sleep Affects Weight
Can’t figure out why you’re gaining weight? Look at your sleep habits. If you sleep an average of six hours a night, your waist measurement is likely a bit more than an inch larger than someone who gets nine hours of sleep. While each person differs in the amount of sleep they need, seven to nine hours for most adults is the “sweet spot”. The longer you’re awake, the more food you’ll eat and it’s usually not broccoli. At night, we crave fats and sugar. Having an eight hour fasting period of sleep not only allows you to avoid food, but your brain gets rid of debris and those nasty proteins that cause Alzheimer’s Disease. Worldwide, the obesity rate has more than doubled since 1980. Obesity plays a powerful role in many debilitating diseases, most notably Type II diabetes which is chronically high blood sugar. Turn everything off and get in bed. Live longer and healthier.
