Topic - Is It Worth The Risk?  Football And Brain Injury

Can we control sports-related brain damage?  Is football dying as a result of parents keeping their kids from sports where concussions are common?  In 6 years, the number of kids in the California pipeline to play football has dropped by 10,000.  Considering there are 93,000 college players in all divisions and the odds are a million to one that your kid will make it onto a Division I football team and after that, a million to one that they’ll make it into the pros, is it worth it to sentence your kid to a grim future?  Out of the 202 football players who donated their brains, 177 had CTE, chronic traumatic encephalopathy.  3 of 14 high schoolers and 48 of the 53 college players already had CTE.  Think about your kids’ future and make your decision.
