The majority of American men feel better about themselves and much more confident when they have facial hair. Facial hair is so important to modern men that about 20% of them would give up intimacy if it meant they could grow the perfect beard. Forty percent would spend a night in jail or give up coffee for a full year to have better facial hair. Some would stand in line at the DMV for a day and still others would shave their head for the perfect beard. Growing it out is frustrating, at times. The patchiness and the uneven color and growth causes distress. Facial hair, especially full beards, are more socially acceptable today than in the past. Women don’t think men keep their facial hair clean, especially those full beards. Women like the face fuzz, but half of them want that clean-shaven look. Should you really let that 5 o’clock shadow grow?
