Topic - Babies temperament may depend on where you live

If you live out in the country, your child may be fussier and have more negative emotions like anger or frustration than city babies.  Why is this the case?  Apparently, it’s not due to the level of stress that parents experience although the big city generally has more violent crime and the country setting is more isolated.  The differences are likely related to more mental health services and parenting resources that are available in the city such as Mommy and Me playgroups, daycare and nursery school.  City moms seem to be better able to recognize when their babies want or need something or when baby is tired of an activity.  Country moms report that their babies are angrier and more frustrated.  This is concerning because their children might be at a greater risk for attentional, emotional, social and behavioral problems later.  It matters where you live.
