Description

This week on RFT Brenna sits down with Nicole Stillings, podcaster, DJ and TV personality. Nicole went from a 9-5 marketing job to living out her dream in entertainment. She shares her childhood experience living in the midwest in a tension filled house while her parents were divorcing. Nicole got into therapy due to a court mandated appointment and found value in it from the start. Nicole explains how her parents divorce affected her, and how her court mandated therapy was her saving grace during her dads diagnosis/treatment/passing. In regards to grieving after her dad’s passing, Nicole says “When you lose a parent at a young age, 9 out of 10 people have not been through something similar. I think a lot of times people think they are doing you a favor by avoiding the topic because they don’t want to upset you, but I felt really lonely because I felt like I couldn’t talk to a lot of my friends about it.” Nicole shares ways that she still connects with her dad daily although he’s not physically here with her. If you have any experience with being a child of divorce or losing a parent this episode is for you.
