Class #1 of Booksmart. This course will offer a panoramic overview of 3000 years of Jewish learning. We will experience the different genres that shape Jewish life, including Tanach, Midrash, Talmud, Halachah, Philosophy, Kabbalah, Mussar, Chasidism, and meet the influential personalities who drove thirty centuries of Jewish scholarship.
In this first class we discussed what is Torah. The difference between the written and oral Torah. Finally we discussed how we each have a part in the Torah.
