Class #2 of Booksmart. This course will offer a panoramic overview of 3000 years of Jewish learning. We will experience the different genres that shape Jewish life, including Tanach, Midrash, Talmud, Halachah, Philosophy, Kabbalah, Mussar, Chasidism, and meet the influential personalities who drove thirty centuries of Jewish scholarship.
In this class we discussed Midrash. What is the body of teachings known as Midrash. In what books can we find the Midrash. Finally we studied some of the methodology of the Midrash.
