Description

For World Suicide Prevention Day, we were grateful to have been joined by Chris Malenab, current assistant coach at Reno 1868 FC. Being a suicide survivor, Chris talked to us about everything surrounding mental health and suicide prevention: the struggles, the stigma, and the outlook for help. Chris shed more light on the difficulties of getting help, which include finding the right psychologist/psychiatrist for you and fitting your needs financially. We talked more about how the negative stigma surrounding mental health can stop someone from getting help, but we also talked about ways that we, as a society, can help break that stigma. Finally, Chris shared with us some ways in which he relieves stress, the impact he wants to leave on the world, and what we can see him doing in the future.

Let's break that stigma.

Always remember that you are not alone. We're in this together.

IT'S OK NOT TO BE OK. HAVE HOPE.
