does the guilt make it more pleasurable? if so, why?
in a christian culture that tells us we are bad little boys, which is then projected onto a capitalist culture that tells us what's wrong with us in order to sell us a solution, there is a lot of suppression. suppression of desire, suppression of inner understanding, suppression of connected community, suppression of grounded knowledge. suppression or maybe repression? either way, it comes out in unhealthy ways when we are trying to force ourselves to live a life that we think will be acceptable and good to those around us. we deserve to be free.
