September is the sickle cell awareness month. Just in case you are unaware, Nigeria is the world capital of the sickle cell disease.
Statistics shows an annual infant death of about 150,000 representing more than 8% of infant mortality in the country.
In support of this global awareness move, today’s episode is dedicated to debunking common misconceptions about the disease. I encourage you to join the move to increase awareness. Together we can break the sickle cycle.
