Today's episode features Kevin McLaughlin, the USAH Assistant Executive Director of Hockey Development. With Kevin we talk about why it is important for the US to develop its hockey culture, and what they want that culture to look like. We also explore the type players that the US wants to develop and how that relates to the goal of being the top hockey country. We dive into the American Development Model (ADM) and why USAH needed to make a change towards age appropriate, long-term development. Finally, we talk about the role of a coach and what USAH is looking to develop in its coaches through their coaching education program.
Although the COVID-19 Pandemic has been disruptive, some positives have been coming out of the mess. It has been really great to see so many people take this extra time to dive into information and material in order to better serve their players and communities!
