Back in POPULAR DEMAND, Keeping Things Reel is back with another anticipated episode! For the third full review episode, I'll be taking the time to discuss two new features released only from Netflix. The first feature 'Hillbilly Elegy' tells a true story about J.D. Vance (author and venture capitalist) going through struggles and hardships with his family when moving to Middletown, Ohio. This film is also based on a bestselling novel of the same name and it's directed by Ron Howard. The second anticipated feature 'Mank' tells the story of well-renowned screenwriter Herman Mankiewicz (Gary Oldman) who wrote the screenplay for one of the greatest films in cinematic history, "Citizen Kane." It is directed by David Fincher (Mindhunter, Gone Girl, Benjamin Button) which happens to be his first directed film in over six years. Will these two films be possible Oscar contenders for the 93rd Academy Awards? Find out by listening here.
I hope you enjoy this amazing episode and thanks once again for the support!
