Coming from an immigrant family or parents while being raised in America is tough in more ways than being "an outsider" to some. You feel at home but out of place, embracing both cultural aspects to you. We are not strangers to this, and I (julianne) will tell you now: this is a story of major ups, downs, loops, and circles. We discuss the aspects of being in a diverse community, the "Asian standard" in school, beauty, and just trying to be Asian-American. Hopefully this sheds some light or help you realize you aren't alone when it comes to struggling to be who you are.
