Travis, also known as Footy, is the co-founder & CEO of Never Eat Alone Entertainment. The music executive sits down with The Appeal Unfiltered for Episode 8 of the show’s inaugural first season.
He talks with co-hosts Neima Abdulahi and Brii Renee about fatherhood, ownership in the industry, and how to pursue visions.
Footy entered the music industry as a co-founder with his brother. Together they launched the independent record label Never Eat Alone, commonly referred to as ‘NEA.’
“I kept telling my family we can do this, we can do this, and then we finally did it,” he said.
Footy is also close friends with Pee from Quality Control, another record label in Atlanta that houses many talented artists.
“Pee didn’t come in with a blueprint, he came in with courage,” Travis stressed the importance of grinding and says social media only shows the beautiful side of the business.
“It takes grinding, late nights, empty bank accounts, and maybe family members not believing in you,” he said.
NEA the label is home to rising stars like 24Heavy, and many more! Moreover. The interview continues with deep words about manifesting one’s visions. “Trust the vision that is in your head, and do not go around begging people to see your vision. People see the end result, but you have to build the house, paint it, put in the flooring, put in the toilet, etc.”
Lastly, Travis touches upon what fatherhood means to him. “Fatherhood is everything to me. I gain inspiration from other nationalities. We take fatherhood for granted, and I always wanted to know how it would feel to teach a child to process their emotions and be themselves.”
