Neima Abdulahi and Brii Renee of The Appeal Unfiltered sit down with singer-rapper Paper Lovee to discuss his early influences, how he started making music, and his future in music.
Paper Lovee reveals that his early inspirations to make music were Chris Brown and Lil Wayne. “Chris Brown was considered the best singer at a young age, and Lil Wayne was the best rapper to me at a young age”, said Paper Lovee. These two talents helped motivate Paper Lovee to chase his dreams at a young age.
In the beginning, Paper Lovee began experimenting in the recording studio free of charge. Lovee’s uncle owned WCB Records and gave his nephew the greenlight to record. As a result, Paper Lovee had the freedom to develop his sound. “In Atlanta, I don’t think you currently need a label because there are so many open doors. It’s about who and what you know”, added Paper Lovee.
Moving forward Paper Lovee shares his thoughts on which Atlanta artists he wants to work with next. “The only person I have not done a song with yet in Atlanta is T.I. He’s so smart so I want to lock in with him.”
